Jenna Snelgrove

LEAP Program Coordinator

            As the LEAP Program Coordinator, Jenna is responsible for overseeing the progress of the CREATE LEAP program. Jenna’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph and a Master of Science in Environmental and Life Sciences from Trent University. Her graduate research was in the discipline of ecohydrology, whereby she focused on the movement of water in a northern forest catchment to analyze the sources of water different tree species use and uptake. After working in environmental consulting on drinking water protection policy implementation, Jenna returned to school to complete a Bachelor of Education, becoming a certified teacher in Ontario in Biology and Geography. Her program focused on educating at-risk youth and young adults, and she has deep interests in promoting student success through experiential and active learning. Recently, Jenna applied her teaching skills as a Demonstrator in the School of the Environment at Trent University, coordinating undergraduate courses and student placements. Her work continues with the LEAP program, where she is excited to combine her fondness for the natural world with the program’s mission to train participants in developing their careers as natural scientists.
