Ella is a master’s student at McGill University supervised by Jeffrey McKenzie. Her work focuses on groundwater in the Yukon Southern Lakes region, with study sites around Carcross. She is interested in establishing a link between groundwater recharge and snowpack as well as quantifying groundwater contributions to the surrounding lakes. Overall, her project aims to establish an understanding of yearly groundwater trends to address drinking water and infrastructure hazards that are increasing because of climate change.

Ella has a BSc. in Geoscience from the University of Toronto. After completing her master’s, she would like to continue northern groundwater research in order to continue to provide safe drinking water to Canadian communities.
