Khizr leads GHG accounting, inventory management and the emissions mitigation strategy for the Government of Northwest Territories in Canada. He is passionate about climate change solutions and cleantech innovation.  
 
Khizr is an experienced cleantech innovator and a mentor to climate solution entrepreneurs across Canada. Khizr primarily supports cleantech entrepreneurs through the Centre for Social Innovation and Foresight’s various accelerator programs.  
 
Before venturing into climate entrepreneurship, Khizr worked on poverty alleviation and behavior change communication projects, collaborating with international development organizations, including The World Bank, UNICEF, USAID, British High Commission, UNDP, Chemonics International, GIZ, and others. 
 
Khizr is the co-founder of Jaan Pak – a clean energy company eradicating the use of open fires for cooking. His enterprise reduced maternal and child mortality across Pakistan. Jaan Pak received international acclaim, accolades, mentions in the press, and roughly 0.5 million USD in grants from various donors including Grand Challenges Canada, UKAID, Inaara Impact Ventures, Dubai Expo 2020, etc.  
 
Khizr has a Micromasters degree in Data, Economics and Development Policy from MIT and a Masters in Global Development Practice from Harvard, where his thesis focus was on decarbonizing transportation. Khizr is also an Acumen Fellow, a Mentor Capital Network Mentor, an All-Bar-None scholar at One Young World and a SOCAP scholar.
